What are Portal Credits?
Portal credits are a paper currency developed by the Portal 2:20 Teen Center that can be used for purchases in place of cash at our center.
What can I use them for?
Portal Credits can be used in place of cash to purchase snacks and prizes available for sale at the Snack Bar & Prize Counter inside the Portal 2:20 Teen Center.
How much is a Portal Credit worth?
One Credit equals One Cent. So 100 Credits = $1.00, 500 = $5.00, etc.
Do they expire?
Credits do not expire. Credits are valid on any item or activity at the center that requires purchasing. Credits cannot be replaced if lost or stolen, so please treat them as real cash money.
How can I earn Portal Credits?
We have a many ways teens can earn Portal Credits. For A's and B's on their report card, through our Verse of the Day program, by challenging a Volunteer at the center and even by helping out at fundraiser events! Additional unlisted opportunities may be available at times per staff discretion.
Can I purchase Portal Credits for my teen?
You can purchase Portal Credits for your teen at anytime during our open hours. Please stop by the teen center and let one of our staff know you wish to purchase Portal Credits.
Can I exchange my Portal Credits for cash?
We do not exchange Portal Credits for cash. Students who pay for purchases with portal credits, receive change in portal credits. Only students who pay for items with cash may receive cash as change.
🛑 We strictly monitor for counterfeit bills and Portal Credits! If any student is found to be using counterfeit Portal Credits, that student will receive immediate expulsion from the teen center. Any student found to be using counterfeit cash will be expelled from the center and authorities contacted. 🛑
