I cannot move into October without talking about September!! The last week and a half of the month. OH MY!!! The way God has been moving in these teens is OUTSTANDING!! Within one week, 2 accepted Christ into their lives and 3 got Baptized. You have to just sit back and watch God move in these kids. One has been on Fire for the Lord! I am so proud of how far she has come in just a few short weeks.  She is the one that lead 2 of her friends to become Christians. One didn’t believe at all and now, she is saved and baptized. It’s hard to hold back the tears of joy for these kids. Because we all know, they are still kids.  We have watched them all grow in so many ways. And we have been there for the heart breaks too.

With teens, you will have issues – minor. But we have taken a tiny step back with a few and wow. What a change. It feels like a breath of fresh air. God has grabbed the reigns and took over. He saw what we needed and he did the work for us. We are ever so thankful for that!! Nothing bad to worry about, your babies are fine. We have it, NO God had it all in his hands and his own timing!! We just have to be there and praise HIM for all he does.
One of the gals that accepted Jesus in her heart, I have never seen her so happy. Before she was existing and seemed without a purpose. I got to chat a bit with her and she seemed like an entirely different person. I love how the Lord, Jesus our savior did this for her. And he can do it for you too.  All you have to do is ask. If you need help, just ask. We are here for you too.
Earlier this month we were almost out of pop. We asked and you guys delivered!!! Way beyond our thoughts and it is so amazing! We are giving a huge thank you to those that brought it. But, we know these kids well and it will be gone in no time. So, anytime you see pop on sale, you let us know or pick up a case or 2 for us!! The kids will love you for it and so will we.
A big thank you to BMM for donating several cases of water and a monetary donation.  We appreciate them so much for stepping up and doing their thing to continue to help us. Check out their Facebook page to see what they do for the community.

The Glow Party – was a huge success!!! We had 31 teens in total. We gave out free hotdogs, popcorn, chips, water, hot chocolate, and candy!! We even had a costume judging!!! Third place were a dynamic duo dressed as Shaggy and Velma from Scooby Doo!  Coming in second place was a Jedi Knight (You may have seen his catchy dance on our Facebook page! hehe). First place went to two very creative gals who came up with their own characters and who are currently writing and illustrating a story all about them!   Overall, it seemed like all the teens had a great time. There is some planning for future events but us volunteers have to recoup from this one.
Every Thursday this month at noon there was a community prayer meeting. This allowed people to come into the Portal and see what it was all about and the main reason to pray over the community.  This community prayer groups meets in various places and is great way to be a part of something with higher purpose.
I want to challenge you to join our Facebook page are read the post about “What is your favorite Bible verse”?  There were several comments with some great answers. Ours is Galatians 2:20! “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.  The life I now life in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
