October 2025- A Season of Change

10/31/2025

Comments

Before we even step fully into October, we have to talk about the final week and a half of September.Oh. My. Goodness.
The way God has been moving in the lives of these teens has been nothing short of outstanding.
Within one week:
  • Two teens accepted Christ
  • Three were baptized
Sometimes all you can do is step back and watch God work.
One young lady has been absolutely on fire for the Lord. In just a few short weeks, the growth in her life has been incredible to witness. She even led two of her friends to Christ. One of those friends previously didn’t believe at all — and now she is saved and baptized.
It’s hard to hold back tears of joy.
These are still kids. We’ve watched them grow. We’ve walked with them through heartbreak. And now we get to witness transformation.
There is nothing more humbling.

When God Takes the Reins
Working with teens naturally comes with occasional challenges. Nothing major — just growing pains. Recently, we felt led to take a small step back in a few areas.
And wow.
What a difference.
It truly felt like a breath of fresh air. God grabbed the reins and took over. He saw what was needed and did the work in His timing.
Parents, please know — your teens are safe, cared for, and prayed over. Ultimately, God holds them in His hands. We simply get the privilege of walking alongside them and praising Him for what He is doing.
One of the girls who gave her heart to Jesus has radiated joy ever since. Before, she seemed to just be existing — unsure, without much direction. Afterward, she seemed like an entirely different person. Purpose. Joy. Confidence.
That is what Jesus does.
And He can do the same for anyone. All you have to do is ask. If you ever need prayer or someone to talk to — we are here.

You Asked. The Community Delivered.
Earlier this month, we were almost completely out of pop. We mentioned it — and you showed up in a big way.
The donations poured in beyond what we expected. We are so thankful for every case brought through our doors.
(Although… knowing these teens, it won’t last long. 😉 So if you see a sale, feel free to grab a case or two!)
A special thank you to Black Mark Mafia for donating several cases of water along with a monetary gift. We are grateful for businesses in our community that step up and invest in local teens.

Glow Party Success
Our Glow Party was a huge hit with 31 teens in attendance!
We served free hotdogs, popcorn, chips, water, hot chocolate, and plenty of candy. There was music, laughter, and even a costume contest.
  • Third place went to a dynamic duo dressed as Shaggy and Velma from Scooby Doo.
  • Second place was awarded to a Jedi Knight (you may have seen his catchy dance on Facebook!).
  • First place went to two creative young ladies who designed their own original characters — characters they are currently writing and illustrating a story about.
It was a night full of creativity, connection, and joy.
Now… the volunteers may need a little time to recover before planning the next big event. 😊 Click here to see the photos!

A Place of Prayer
Every Thursday at noon this month, Portal hosted a community prayer gathering. This gave people an opportunity to step inside the building, see what Portal is about, and most importantly, pray over our community.
The prayer group meets in various locations throughout town, and we were honored to host during October. There is something powerful about coming together for a higher purpose.

We invite you to visit our Facebook page and join the conversation on our post asking, “What is your favorite Bible verse?”
Our ministry verse, of course, is Galatians 2:20:

“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

🌱 Join the Mission This Month

Lives are being changed. Seeds are sprouting. And God is moving.
Thank you for being part of the story.

Have a blessed rest of your month and day.
