Here we are again, wow!! It’s the end of November!! Nope, it’s December!!! Where has the year gone!! Oh my!! We literally blinked and December is upon us and it’s almost time to celebrate Jesus’s Birthday. This season is all for Him. Every season should be all about Him. 

Before we get there let’s talk about November…..  What a great month we had!! Every Thursday during the month, Portal hosted the Thursday noon prayer meeting. It was a gracious time to come together with the community and pray over the community. 

November is all about Gratitude. What’s on your list of things to be grateful for? During our Charlie Brown Thanksgiving night we had the teens write down things that they were thankful for.  They wrote down the normal things like friends, family, and all the fun things. One wrote finally a stable home. That hit me in the feels. Hard. I have always had a stable home and family. I don’t know what its was like not having one. I have been learning about it through them and what it is like to not have one and it breaks my heart. So, to hear one teen finally has one is joyful and defiantly something to be grateful for.

Our annual Charlie Brown Thanksgiving was everything it was meant to be!! Have you seen the cartoon movie? Then yes, you knew what to expect for the food and fellowship. The teens brought in what they could get their hands on from their cupboards and feasted. This year we did have several adults and volunteers bring in real food for the teens to add more deliciousness to the meal. A ham was donated and the was devoured within a few minutes. There was nothing left but the bone. More items like cheesy potatoes, mac and cheese, salad and the fixings, tacos (another huge hit), and more desserts than what a normal human should consume where created and donated.  Our final count of teens was 38 !!! That was a record high of how many teens we have had in the building at one time. They ALL ate their fill and some even left with goodie bags. It was a great night!! 

We did receive a gracious donation from the Ohio Homemakers & Community Education (HCE)!! One we were not expecting and were thrilled to receive, just like all the other donations we get in. With that being said we are pleased to announce something we have been working really hard on.  It is a sponsorship program. We want you to be a Star in our Galaxy!!
